Dalam doa, namamu selalu aku sematkan, (semoga) menjadi doa yang baik untuk kita, (semoga) kamupun begitu. Banyak doa yang sudah kuucap, sepertinya belum ada yang terkabul. Aku yakin (semoga) Tuhan bukan tak mengabulkan doaku. Ia hanya menyimpannya, hingga waktu yang tepat datang.

Public Speaking

A good communication is the key to the world. This is not a bluff. Check out the most influential people of all time, like Malcolm X. Martin Luther King, Adolf Hitler, our first president Soekarno, and last but certainly not least… Barrack Obama. They are all great communicators, and of course, public speakers.
Not everybody was born with the gift as a good-communicator-by-born. However, public speaking skills can be learned, practiced, and experienced. Be it as an orator, spokesperson, announcer, anchor, salesman, even a band, this skill is very essential.

EFFECTIVE PUBLIC SPEAKING
Effective public speaking involves three pillars or the three V’s.
Verbalization is the choice of words you use to speak to the audience. It is what you say.
Vocalization is how you deliver the words using various pace, pitch, power, pausing, modulations, and other vocal speaker skills.
Visualization is how the audience sees you. This involves how you dress, grooming and carry yourself in front of the audience.


BASIC PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS
These are the basic public speaking skills you need to get a grip of:
  • Know your audience. This is the single best piece of advice for delivering a presentation. What are their interests? Their backgrounds? Why are they coming to hear you speak? What ideas do you have to share with them? Approaching your speech as more of a “me-to-you” discussion rather than a full-blown broadcast makes it less stressful.
  • What do you want your audience to do as a result of your speech? What’s really at the heart of your presentation? By concentrating on the “end result” rather than slogging through the beginning, you create a powerful punch that drives home your message instead of rambling on.
  • Share a story. In public speaking circles, this is called a “hook” – something that gets your audience’s attention and makes them sit up and listen. Start off by asking questions or sharing an experience you had. People like to be active, rather than passive listeners. By giving them something that they can identify with, you’ll find that these people are just like you; that makes giving a presentation a whole lot easier. Be sure your story has a beginning, a point, and an ending. There’s nothing quite as bad as telling a story to an engaged audience and then forgetting why you told it!
  • Maintain sincere eye contact with your audience. Use the 3-second method, e.g. look straight into the eyes of a person in the audience for 3 seconds at a time. Have direct eye contact with a number of people in the audience, and every now and then glance at the whole audience while speaking. Use your eye contact to make everyone in your audience feel involved.
  • If you’re selling a product, focus on the benefits instead of the features. People would much rather hear WHAT a product can do for them than HOW it does it. Narrow down your product’s features until you get to the core of how it solves a problem. If you need help with figuring out the difference between a feature and a benefit, ask yourself “So What?” For example, if you’re selling a vacuum cleaner that has a hypoallergenic filter, put yourself in the customer’s shoes and ask yourself “so what?” The answer would be something like, “It picks up dust, mold and pet dander”. Again, “so what?” Answer, “You’ll feel relief from runny nose and sneezing plus itchy, water eyes.” Now THAT’s a benefit!

    hellhooooooo, long time no post :D
    today, i just wanna talk that i'm so busy, really busy, i'm not pretending, you know !
    every day I get the assignment from the lecturer, such as P.Ak, P.Kom, Agama, P.Ek, QMS, etc.. heeeeeh and it was not a little, but many, so many, so much. i have no reason to give up, because this is just the beginning, the real fight will take place later, and ready not ready i have to be ready, yes.. of course.

    i know, seems like EEK, if we have and must do homework everyday, and everyday too, i must keep bumblebee arround 3-10 o'clock p.m, hmmm i think you can feel that i'm so tired, tired helpless, but i do not need sympathy from others, it's my way, it's my decision. Trully, sometimes i fell so boring and saturated, i can't hanging out with my friend frequenly, watching television, JJS, going to Mall, and other fun activities, but i can't do anything because from this i can give some money to add my wallet.. hehehe.. enough and balance and i also not wasthing time to useless thing maybe :D alhamdulillah yaaaah be matureeeeeeeeee, be hard worker :p

    I want share little about my new class in accounting major, hmm.. Especially with classmates, so far this class is fun, very very fun, we always sosializing and joking in spare time. I think i not should mention their name one, by one in blog (hehehe... i scare forgot the name) I know, we are a team to three years later, so we must keep solidarity and friendship :D i don't like arrogant person, really hate, and i don't want to be like this.

    about my business now

    Hello.. 
    Today i'll speak full with English, it's also to familiarize myself using English so my English skill can be better than before (amin), like "Ala bisa karena biasa" so, i'll speak English anymore. Moreover, on My Campus that demands me to master the English language, i don't know why -____-, but still enjoy blogging aja ya :). Today i'm going to tells about my business now, i'm Accounting Colleger on Polnep, you might be know, precisely i'm Accounting beginner, because my study background when i was in Senior High School is science program, so not matching right ? What ever lah, because i'm not idealist person, but honestly it's so hard for me to know basic of accounting. plase give me pray to live my life with accounting. Oke..Oke..Oke :). Actually, i don't have much time to blogging and post anything, because i've got so many homework and jobsheet and other task, so i'll do soon before it bigger like a mountain. huuuuft : |
     

    Do you still remember that i will tell about LDK ? hmmm.. i hope you wait and keep waiting always, because i don't have document in the form of photos, because i love blogging with photos, but I promise I'll tell about my experience in LDK later, someday maybe, NOT NOW :) be patient yaaaaaa :)

    I'm not too busy, but I just need to set the time and the schedule to repair my self. that's why now, i'm seldom to blogging and post anything. I'm not intense share about MDGs and my project again, i'm not intense share about my crazyvity again. Oh.. poor me, pity pity pityyyyyyyy :( but I know this is a risk that should I receive as a colleger, and I should be ready for it. SHOULD BE READY, SELLY !

    Did you know? in Polnep i'm part of 1D Accounting department, in the class just 30 colleger, and so far this class enough to make me comfort, i don't later. About the lecturer, it's enough to make me "berdebar-bedar" because the rule each lecturer is different and made me little down, because they always say about DO (Drop Out) and D,E score -_________-" Astagfirullah, i hope, i'm not one of this, and i can foll the lesson as well.
    hmmm.. if i'm not active again in blog, there are reason, i just share it so you know and not confuse where Selly Wijayanti go.. hehehehe because education is number for me. I must study hard to become a success women, amin ya rab :)

    LDK, i'm cooming

    Sebelum mulai ngeblog, izinkanlah hamba mengucapkan, Bismillahhirohmanirohiiiiiiiiim :)

    Hiyaa, tinggal beberapa jam lagi aku akan mengikuti kegiatan LDK (Latihan Dasar Kepemimpinan). Aku belum tau bagaimana dan belum pernah mengalami sebelumnya, malah dulu pernah aku hindari kegiatan sejenis ini (terkisah diblog sebelumnya) tapi apa daya, sebagai Maba aku harus ikhlas menjalaninya, semangkaaaa :D
    gak boleh ada kata terpaksa, gak boleh malas-malasan, gak boleh bergumam, gak boleh gak semangat, kalo ikhlas insyallah semuanya bakal lancar. Amin :) Katanya LDK akan dipimpin dan dibina ama om-om TNI, hmmm.. OM TNI ? dengarnya aja udah ngeri ya, yang biasa aku liat di tepi-tepi sih pake baju loreng, mukanya di coret-coret ama arang gambar love *wink peace om :)
    Alhamdulillah yeh, bisa diospek ama om-om TNI, di Supadio pula, siapa tau langsung bisa direkrut jadi Pramugari (ambisi tak kesampaian gara-gara nasib tinggi badan) *krik


    Om TNI, apa yang akan kamu lakukan kepadaku saat LDK nanti ?


    khusus bagi laki-laki, rambut mereka musti dipotong sepanjang 1cm, wooow.. apa aku sebagai perempuan musti dipotong juga ? Oh.. jangan donk, om TNI ya :), aku mohon, soalnya aku pernah motong rambut sendiri hasilnya kayak anak-anak Harajuku, bencot sana bencot sini, buwooook, apalagi kalo om TNI yang motong, kan tanganya tangan baja? *ups

    Aku tau, pasti nanti saat LDK Om TNI akan mengajari aku seni bela diri, ciaaat.. gebuk sana gebuk sini, yang mau di gebuk ayo kesini ? :p Sebagai perempuan itu memang sangat diperlukan buat melindungi diri dari orang-orang yang berniat jahat ke kita, contohnya copet,rampok,jambret, bahkan pemerkosaan, Hmm.. aku jadi lebih semangat buat LDK :D  Go Go Girl!

    Dor..Dor..Dor, aku paling bersemangat ama yang satu ini, soalnya aku pengen sekali punya keahlian tembak-menembak ampe aku bela-belain bawa pistol aer dari rumah buat minta dilatih ama Om TNI saat LDK nanti (awas gak percaya, udah d packing kok :p) So, yuk mari dor dor ran :D


    Om TNI, ini yang paling aku takutkan, tolong saat LDK nanti jangan main kekerasan fisik ya, apalagi pake benda-benda tajam, tapi kalo Om TNI emang mau nyari ribut ama aku, Oke.. aku juga bakal bawa benda tajam. Aku akan bawa jarum pentul, and kita fight ! wkwkwkw


    Berenang, yah.. aku paling gak bisa bayangin kalo saat LDK nanti Om TNI bakal nyuruh aku berenang, karena aku gak bisa renang, bukan 100% gak bisa, tapi bisa renang kalo kolamnya cetek, itu aku sangat lihai renang, Aku mohon demi Nazaruddin yang udah ketangkap, jangan suruh aku renang ya Om TNI, #highfive

    Om TNI, kalo emang masih nekat buat nyuruh aku berenang, inilah yang akan terjadi, aku kelelep muka ku akan membiru, bisa-bisa terkena pneumonia yaitu sebuah penyakit pada paru-paru dimana pulmonary alveolus (alveoli) yang menyerap oksige dari atmosfer meradang, karena terisi cairan, jadi please Om TNI yang cakep, mencegah lebih baik daripada mengobati bukan? hehehe

     Om TNI, aku lagi pengen sharing nih, aku lagi mengalami ngiluk yang luar biasa di daerah gigi geraham ku, gara-gara mau tambal gigi tapi gak ketunda terus, jadi sakitnya masih kerasa ampe sekarang. Untuk itu, kalo nanti pas kegiatan LDK aku akan lebih sering-sering sikat gigi, siapkan air yang bersih ya buat aku sikat gigi biar ngiluk gigi ku hilang, Yo..wesss, *senyum pepsoden*

    Huwaaaaaah T__T, aku gak bisa bayangkan kalo pas lagi asyik-asyik kegiatan LDK tiba-tiba gigiku ngeyut luar biasa, Ya..Allah, demi Om TNI, hilangkanlah ngenyut digigi ini, seminggu saja, hamba janji akan melakukan apa yang Om TNI perintahkan dengan semangat dan riang gembira, ciaaaaaaaaat, dizzy get out!

    Guling..guling, mungkin itu yang bakal aku lakukan kalo tiba-tiba semua penyakitku kambuh saat LDK berlangsung, karena menurut Dokter Boyke, guling-guling itu bisa membangkitkan gairah kita untuk terus semangat menjalani LDK *krik Om TNI, give me pray ya :)


    Aku bukan orang yang cengeng, aku bukan orang yang cemengeng, BUKAN (sugesti) ! Ya, aku harus kuat saat menjalani LDK nanti, jangan ada acara nangis-nagisan, walau banyak rintangan dan hambatan yang Om TNI berikan, aku Siap gerak, maju, jalan !!! 


    NAH..  SELLY HARUS SEMANGAT BUAT LDK BESOK, OKE!
    MAJU TAK GENTAR MEMBELA YANG BENAR

    Excited sekali saat nulis blog ini, hehehe, bagi Om-om TNI yang baca, jangan dimasukin ke hati, dan apakah LDK aku akan berjalan lancar selama seminggu kedepan?
    Insyallah, aku pasrah :)
